In 2003, Chile's two existing antitrust commissions were replaced by a single tribunal - the Tribunal de Defensa de la Libre Competencia - which assumed both preventative and remedial powers. Since then, Chile's competition bar has grown rapidly, driven in part by a merger boom and more active enforcement.
