For a small economy, the Netherlands has a surprisingly high number of antitrust specialists. The country has good transport links, a well-educated workforce and close ties to Brussels, making it a popular European base for many international corporations. It is also due to the enforcement efforts of the Netherlands' Competition Agency, whose large budget and staff mean there is plenty of work for private firms.
