It's been a revolutionary year for competition in France, with the consolidation of France's DGCCRF and the Competition Council to create the Competition Authority, brought about by the 2008 Act for the Modernisation of the Economy. The head of the Competition Council, Bruno Lasserre, has presided over the change. He has been quoted as saying the new authority will be more efficient, visible and understandable to the competition community and society as a whole.
