Israel's Antitrust Authority had a somewhat mixed year in 2008. Sources agree that the authority's merger control record was very strong. "Merger investigations were generally quick and, as far as we can judge, consistent with past decisions and economic literature," says one source. "The authority was practical and very quick in dealing with merger cases," another agrees.
