Poland's Office of Competition and Consumer Protection

Poland's Office of Competition and Consumer Protection came under new leadership last year, when Malgorzata Krasnod¸ebska-Tomkiel succeeded Marek Niechcial as president of the office. Niechcial's removal, which came in June, had been expected for some time. Under Poland's Anti-monopoly Act, the country's prime minister had the power to appoint or dismiss the head of the authority at any time.
