Imminent reform means Denmark’s competition bar is gearing up for an influx of new work. Agnete Gersing, head of the country’s Competition Authority, is lobbying the government to lower merger thresholds in its review of the country’s competition laws this autumn. Practitioners expect merger notifications to increase fivefold - from 10 to 15 transactions a year at present, to around 50. This will benefit established competition teams and may also encourage the emergence of new practices
