The relatively small practice group at Heenan Blaikie LLP punches above its weight and has an impressive client list. Indeed, the team, led by partner Subrata Bhattacharjee, has worked on three of the largest deals in the country over the past two years: Abu Dhabi National Energy Company’s purchase of PrimeWest Energy Trust; Teck Cominco’s (now Teck Resources) acquisition of Aur Resources Limited, a Heenan Blaikie client; and Philip Morris International’s C$2 billion takeover of Rothmans.
