In 2009, South Africa's Competition Commission again advanced its fight against the country's cartelists. The commission uses its mandate to reduce divisions between the wealthy and the poor in South Africa, targeting sectors of the economy that affect the poorest consumers, including basic food staples such as bread and milk.
