Sweden's Competition Authority underwent a change in leadership in 2009. Dan Sjöblom took the helm in March after serving as a head of unit at DG Comp. Hopes were high; during his time at the European Commission Sjöblom worked on a number of high-profile merger cases, including the tie-up of Swedish telecoms operator Telia with its Norwegian counterpart Telenor.
