Canada's Competition Bureau

Practitioners say it has been a good year at Canada’s Competition Bureau. Under the leadership of Commissioner Melanie Aitken, the bureau’s enforcement programme has had an impressive mix of both criminal and civil antitrust cases. Aitken had promised that the bureau would be more aggressive in pursuing cases against anti-competitive conduct and seeing those cases through to trial before the Competition Tribunal.
