Claus Kastberg Nielsen
Dr Kastberg Nielsen is the founder and managing director of Copenhagen Economics and head of its competition service. He is based in Stockholm as of August 2012.
Prior to founding Copenhagen Economics in 2000, Dr Kastberg Nielsen was head of the Division for Economic Analysis in the Ministry of Business and Industry in Denmark. He gained a PhD in economics from Aarhus University in 1995.
Dr Kastberg Nielsen is an expert in the application of microeconomic theory and methods to competition and regulation, impact analysis and market design. He is a very experienced project manager and a gifted communicator. Dr Kastberg Nielsen has extensive experience from antitrust, merger, state aid and damage claim cases, and has deep sector knowledge of energy, postal services, telecoms, food, retail, construction, banking and professional services.
