Paula Ramada

London Economics

Dr Paula Ramada is a divisional director with London Economics, specialising in competition and consumer policy. Recently directed projects for the UK Office of Fair Trading include a review of the UK penalties regime and two other projects in the area of consumer policy. Recent work also includes a number of projects in the area of intellectual property rights for the UK Intellectual Property Office, including a policy impact assessment, a review of academic literature and a large-scale ongoing study on the impact of patent backlogs. Paula has written economic opinions on the competitive effects of potential mergers in telecoms and related infrastructure sectors. During 2007 she provided advice to the UK Competition Commission on a gas market regulatory review and leading economist support in a utilities merger case.

Dr Ramada has a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has taught graduate Economics courses at Northwestern University and at the London Business School.
