Samir Gandhi
Mr Gandhi received his BA, LLB (Hons) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, in 1999 where he was awarded a University Gold Medal. In 2003, he received his LLM in Corporate & Commercial Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he was the LSE-DFID Commonwealth Scholar. Mr Gandhi was a visiting scholar at Columbia Law School in 2004 and is a member of the American Society of International Law.
Mr Gandhi works on international trade and competition law and policy advises the government of India, international organisations and the private sector on a wide range of trade policy issues. Mr Gandhi also has extensive trade remedial and WTO dispute settlement experience and has assisted as counsel to the government of India before the WTO Panel and Appellate Body in India-Additional Duties. He has spoken on WTO law issues and WTO dispute settlement at various national and international fora.
Mr Gandhi has worked closely with the Competition Commission of India and assisted as counsel on several occasions. He has also advised various national and international companies on aspects of cartel investigations, provisions of anti- competitive agreements, discount schemes and pricing policies and aspects of merger control. Mr Gandhi has had his work on competition law and international trade published in leading Indian newspapers and international journals, including the Asia Pacific Competition Law Journal and the Journal of World Trade.
