Canada and US approve Merck/Schering Plough

The end is in sight for pharmaceuticals company Merck’s proposed US$41 billion acquisition of rival Schering Plough with regulatory approval coming from both Canada’s Competition Bureau and the US Federal Trade Commission yesterday.
