Heavy divestments ordered in Universal/EMI

The European Commission has approved Universal Music Group’s £1.2 billion buyout of part of rival music company EMI subject to the divestment of nearly a third of the acquired catalogues. The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) approved the deal without further remedies.
