Canada wins guilty pleas in petrol case

Suncor pleaded guilty to price fixing
Canada’s Competition Bureau has obtained a guilty plea from the country’s largest oil company in an investigation over collusion to fix the price of petrol. In a separate bureau probe, five individuals and a cooperative have also pleaded guilty to fixing petrol prices in Quebec.

Canada’s Competition Bureau has approved a 10-year storage and distribution deal between gas companies Suncor Energy and Ultramar, in what one lawyer calls an “excellent example” of behavioural remedies in action.
