Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG) has filed a federal lawsuit against four leading confectionery companies, claiming that they conspired to raise chocolate prices in Kansas and throughout the US between 2002 and 2008.
France penalises pet food makers

France’s Competition Authority has fined the pet food subsidiaries of Nestlé, Mars Incorporated and Colgate-Palmolive more than €35 million for restricting competition in the markets for dried food for cats and dogs.
Kraft/Cadbury deal likely to face antitrust review

UK confectionery company Cadbury has rejected an unsolicited, multi-billion pound bid from rival Kraft Foods for a deal that specialists believe, should it occur, would raise red flags for competition authorities.
