Melanie Aitken was, in many ways, in the right place at the right time. In December 2008, when Aitken took over as Interim Commissioner of Canada’s Competition Bureau, the country was only three months away from ushering in the most extensive changes to its competition laws in a quarter of a century – changes she was tasked with overseeing and implementing. Now, Aitken sits down with Ron Knox in Vancouver to discuss the new laws and what the future may hold for Canadian competition enforcement
