The UK’s Competition Commission (CC) has opened an in-depth investigation of the merger between packaging companies Akzo Nobel and Metlac following a referral by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has cleared Amcor’s takeover of Aperio Group without conditions, despite an initial assessment that the deal would substantially lessen competition for the supply of flexible packaging products in Australia.
