Record fine for bread cartelist in South Africa
South Africa’s Competition Tribunal has fined Pioneer Foods 196 million rand (US$26 million) for its role in a cartel that fixed the price of bread. It is the highest fine – as a percentage of turnover – imposed in South Africa to date.
