Biography: Competition
Dr Harald Kahlenberg is a partner in CMS Hasche Sigle's Stuttgart office. He is the head of CMS' European competition practice group and the chair of the antitrust and competition practice group of the World Law Group (WLG). His practice focuses on EU and German competition law with special emphasis on merger control and misuse cases. He represents German and international clients before the German Bundeskartellamt, the European Commission and German courts in a large number of merger notifications and competition law cases and has obtained clearances on a wide range of transactions. He has considerable experience in coordinating merger filings of international transactions to several competition authorities. Furthermore, he advises clients on cartel damage issues and on the implementation of competition compliance programmes. His recent industry experience covers sectors such as engineering, energy and utilities, water, sports, print and new media, steel and scrap, drugstore chains, cement and construction, as well as distribution.Harald is a regular speaker at national and international conferences. He is listed as a leading lawyer in competition in all of the major directories.
