Ief Daems
Ief Daems is an associate in Howrey's Brussels office, specialising in EU and Belgian competition law. Ief has experience in European antitrust cases and merger filing procedures, including the equivalent provisions under Belgian and Dutch law. He has worked with clients across a diverse range of sectors including aviation, steel, chemicals, directory and internet services, electronics and semi-conductor products. Prior to joining Howrey, Ief completed an extended traineeship in the Consumer Goods and Agriculture Unit at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Competition. He assisted in various cartel cases, as well as investigations into abuse of dominant positions and merger filings in sectors such as textiles, haberdashery, automobiles, construction, food and fishing. He also worked in close contact with the Hearing Officer.
