Marc Lévy
Marc Lévy has headed the EU, competition and commercial department of the Paris office of SJ Berwin since his arrival in 2003.
He is an experienced competition and commercial lawyer, representing domestic and international groups before the EU and French competition authorities and courts with respect to cartels and abuse of market dominance. Marc’s work also involves advising clients on a broad range of issues, including dawn raids, compliance programs, promotion and pricing practices, parallel trade and the building up of distribution channels, both online and offline.
Marc also specialises in French and cross-border merger control regulations. He is also a litigator and advises clients as regards unfair trade practices, consumer protection, contractual disputes and regulatory issues. He is particularly active in the online and pharmaceutical industries and in regulated sectors, both in contentious and non contentious matters.
Prior to joining SJ Berwin, he was head of the Antitrust and Commercial Law Practice at Archibald from 1996. Prior to his time there, he was an associate at Salès Vincent Georges, during which time he was seconded for one year as legal affairs director to Microsoft France. From 1990 to 1992 he was a Staff Attorney at Air Liquide in Houston, Texas, USA.
Marc teaches French and EU Competition and Distribution Law in the ‘European Business Law’ Master at the Paris V Descartes University. He regularly contributes articles to trade journals. In particular, he authored a substantial competition and distribution law chapter in the new edition of the ‘Lamy’ on Life Sciences.
Marc is bilingual in English and French. He has been a member of the Paris Bar since 1993.
