Ricardo Inglez de Souza is a partner of the competition practice group at Demarest e Almeida and is also active in the international trade practice and product liability groups. He advises domestic and international clients in all competition law matters, including merger notifications, investigations on competition violations, leniency, compliance programmes and distribution practices. He advises clients in complex international trade issues, including trade barriers, antidumping and safeguard proceedings and has large experience with recall proceedings in Brazil.

He graduated from Faculdade de Direito da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Sío Paulo (PUC-SP) in 2000, and was admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association in Sío Paulo (OAB/SP) in 2001. He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the competition committee of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/SP) and of FIESP. Between 2002 and 2005, he represented Demarest e Almeida at Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal, its partner firm in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He also participated in the training for young lawyers at the Brazilian Mission in Geneva at the WTO in 2005.

He is an active speaker in domestic and international seminars and is also the author of several articles published in specialised publications. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
