Giorgio Alù

Giorgio Alù is the partner in charge of the EU and competition law department at Tonucci & Partners. Giorgio is an expert in EU law, competition law, international private and procedural law. He regularly advises leading Italian and international companies with respect to procedures before the European Commission and the Italian competition authority as well as civil and administrative courts. Giorgio has also gained significant experience in privatisation, energy law and public utilities with specific reference to the enactment of liberalisation principles within the domestic market.

Giorgio graduated in law, maxima cum laude, at the University of Rome 'La Sapienza' in 1994 and is admitted to the Italian Bar. He has been assistant professor of private law at the University of Rome; lecturer of competition laws at the master European Studies and International Relationships - Competition Policy course offered by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Rome 'La Sapienza' (2003 to date); lecturer of competition laws at the post-graduate International Business Transactions programme offered by the University of Trieste (2003); lecturer of competition and regulatory laws at the postgraduate Business Lawyers programme, MIDIFORM (2005 to 2008).
